This Level 2 Health and Safety qualification is designed to provide your staff with knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential in the workplace.

Learners will achieve the necessary understanding of the responsibilities and employers and employees, the benefits of good health and safety, steps to a risk assessment, common causes of and how to reduce accidents, near misses and ill-health, typical hazards and controls in the workplace, emergency procedures and the importance of recording accidents, near misses and ill-health occurrences.

YMCA Derbyshire have created an exciting new partnership with Head High, a new mental health charity that has been established in Derby with the aim of bringing the local community together.

The multi-award winning Chameleon School of Construction are celebrating another accolade after winning the Inclusion category at the 2017 Derbyshire Times Business Awards on Thursday 9 November.

Following on from the presentation Maureen Deary delivered at our annual conference, one of the most requested courses we have been asked to provide for our members is Ofsted nominee training.

With the news that Ofsted are now looking to potentially inspect sub-contractors directly, we have secured the services of an ex-Ofsted lead inspector, Peter Stacey to come and deliver this training at The Derbyshire Network.

The skills minister has appeared to agree that Ofsted should inspect subcontractors during an exchange at education questions in the House of Commons earlier this week. Anne Milton seemed to echo the beliefs of her predecessor Robert Halfon when he asked her about subcontracting in Parliament.

Mr Halfon, now the chair of the influential education select committee asked, “Does my honourable friend not agree that Ofsted should inspect subcontractors and will she review the extent of subcontracting and ensure that all apprentices receive the quality training they deserve?”
