Future Apprenticeships

Building on the work done during the first phase of the Future Apprenticeships programme, AELP and partners have been commissioned by The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) to run phase two of the programme.

Have you read the AELP report highlighting the fact that more than 3 out of 4 apprenticeships (76%) are delivered by independent training providers?

The true extent of the role of independent training providers (ITPs) in the delivery of the government’s flagship skills programme has until now been hidden by the sheer scale of subcontracting which is a major feature of the further education and skills system in England. To illustrate this, 40% of apprenticeship starts contracted through FE colleges are actually delivered by ITPs.

Growth funding worth up to £2million could be loaned to ambitious businesses looking to expand and create more jobs, launched by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) aimed at boosting the economy.

D2N2 is inviting applications to its Growing Places Fund (GPF) businesses and public sector organisations (for example, local authorities) to apply for loans to kick-start stalled capital developments or expansion plans, which will directly grow the economy and create jobs.
