Following the result of the referendum on EU membership, a statement on funding for EU nationals has been released by the Student Loans Company.

The following applies to EU nationals who are currently in receipt of student loans from the Student Loans Company (SLC), and to EU nationals who intend to begin studying from this autumn.

We’re very sad to announce that Terry Mahoney our Finance Manager passed away on Sunday night aged 60.

Terry joined the Network in November 2009 and set about establishing a robust set of financial procedures and processes that were so effective and efficient that they survive him.  


Skills Minister Nick Boles has admitted that a string of key apprenticeship reform announcements will be further delayed following Brexit.

The government was due to provide further funding information for apprenticeship reforms by the end of this month, with the long-awaited Sainsbury review report setting out new technical professional education (TPE) routes into work, and a subsequent skills white paper, also expected imminently.

Building on the work done during the first phase of the Future Apprenticeships programme, AELP and partners have been commissioned by The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) to run phase two of the programme.

The true extent of the role of independent training providers (ITPs) in the delivery of the government’s flagship skills programme has until now been hidden by the sheer scale of subcontracting which is a major feature of the further education and skills system in England. To illustrate this, 40% of apprenticeship starts contracted through FE colleges are actually delivered by ITPs.
