There are a whole host of different funding streams listed there to help businesses within the D2N2 LEP area. The latest update includes the GigaBit Broadband Voucher Scheme which can be used by small businesses and the local communities surrounding them to contribute to the installation cost of a gigabit capable connection

A new trial will enable AEB providers to fully fund learners, who are employed and in receipt of a low wage and cannot contribute towards the cost of co-funding fees.

The one-year trial, for the 2018 to 2019 funding year, will enable more eligible adults to access AEB funding.

This will help to increase AEB participation and lift social mobility barriers to learning for those who would not otherwise engage due to course fees being unaffordable. It will also support those that are in low paid employment and are wanting to further progress in work and in their chosen career.

It was announced today (26/06/18/) that large employers will soon be able to transfer up to 10% of their apprenticeship levy funds to multiple businesses, in a move aimed at helping to boost the number of high-quality apprenticeships across the country.

Apprenticeships and Skills Minister Anne Milton announced the move today at the AELP Annual Conference.

Learndirect has a new owner after striking a deal with entrepreneur Wayne Janse van Rensburg for his firm Dimensions Training Solution to take the reins.

It had been reported previously by FE Week that, PeoplePlus Group Limited had been in talks with the owners of Learndirect, Lloyds Development Capital (LDC), but it is understood this deal fell through early last week.
