Level 2 Health and Safety Training

This qualification will provide your staff with knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential in the workplace.

Learners will achieve the necessary understanding of the responsibilities and employers and employees, the benefits of good health and safety, steps to a risk assessment, common causes of and how to reduce accidents, near misses and ill-health, typical hazards and controls in the workplace, emergency procedures and the importance of recording accidents, near misses and ill-health occurrences.

Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremonies – help celebrate the success of apprentices

The National Apprenticeship Service are hosting 8 graduation ceremonies across the country during National Apprenticeship Week and if they prove successful they could become an annual event.

The ceremonies are being held at the following venues:

•             London, 80 Strand, 9th March, 1pm start

•             South East, Amex Stadium, Brighton, 9th March, 5pm start

They are now looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to lead and manage this thriving curriculum area.  This full time, permanent position is based at their Allen Park Centre in Derby and carries the responsibility for the provision of programmes of learning for Modern Foreign Languages, British Sign Language and other specialist provision that forms part of our Learning Club.

Providers will be asked to log apprentices’ off-the-job training hours to prove that the deeply unpopular minimum funding requirement is being met, has been reported by FE Week.

A new data field for individual learner records (ILR) – which is to be updated monthly – is supposed to “help” providers “demonstrate compliance” with the requirement for at least 20 per cent of apprentices’ time to be spent training away from work.
