Michelle Hill

Michelle was been appointed as the Network’s Chief Executive Officer on the 1st November 2016.

Michelle brings to the network a wealth of experience from previous roles within the education industry. Reporting to the Board, MIchelle has overall responsibility for the organisation's strategic direction as well as delivery of the business plan, including budget and staff management. Michelle will represent the Network and its members on various bodies including the D2N2 LEP.

Amanda Ashall

Amanda joined the Network in October 2009 as Contracts MI Coordinator and has since progressed to MIS & Data Administration Manager. Amanda’s key responsibility is to manage the input and output of all learner and employer data on to the Network’s CRM system.

Amanda produces and disseminates a series of detailed monthly reports of subcontractor performance and is responsible for managing the day-to-day work of the data administration staff – making sure the data is entered accurately and complies with funding requirements.

Amanda also manages the Network’s shared drive as well as undertaking ad hoc MI data requests when called upon.

Sharon Nash

Key responsibilities are to oversee the development and implementation of quality systems for both The Derbyshire Network and our Providers. Sharon helps ensure there is a commitment from all parties to the SFA and Common Inspection Framework, with the ultimate aim of providing quality provision for all learners.

Sharon previously held the position of Quality Improvement and Quality Curriculum Manager (WBL) for a large FE College. A qualified teacher, assessor, IV and coach with 20 years experience of FE, Community and WBL teaching, Sharon uses her skills and experience to support and develop staff to become reflective practitioners who can enhance a learner's experience within sub-contract, franchise and partnership provision.

Jo Sanders

Jo joined the Network as Teaching and Learning Quality Officer in March 2014, having previously worked as an Advanced Practitioner, Curriculum Leader, Employability Manager and Lecturer at a large FE college, as well as Regional Skills Manager for a major welfare to work provider.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Observing and grading the quality of Teaching, Learning, Assessment, induction and initial assessment
  • Supporting tutor/assessors to develop and improve by sharing of resources, peer networking and training opportunities
  • To determine the validity of Sub-Contractors’ Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans, ensuring that that Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Safeguarding are embedded within all Learning programmes along with English, maths and ILT.
  • Auditing of quality systems and procedures including apprenticeship reviews

Robert Blower – Data, Compliance & Surveys Administrator

Robert joined The Derbyshire Network in July 2016. Robert’s job role changed in March 2017 to his current position of Data, Compliance & Surveys Administrator. Key responsibilities include: handling all the paperwork received by his allocated sub-contractors, ensuring it is compliant with SFA funding rules and meets any TDN requirements; dealing with any queries from his sub-contractors in a timely manner; overseeing the completion of SFA and TDN internal satisfaction surveys; supporting other members of staff as and when required.

Robert has 6 years’ experience in the sector previously working at two different training providers in the roles of Regional Co-ordinator and Senior Administrator.

Lauren Carter

Lauren is the longest serving member of The Derbyshire Network having been here since 2008. Lauren’s job role changed in September 2016 to her current position of Data and Compliance Administrator. Key responsibilities include: handling all the paperwork received by her allocated sub-contractors, ensuring it is compliant with SFA funding rules and meets any TDN requirements; dealing with any queries from her sub-contractors in a timely manner; supporting other members of staff as and when required.

Lauren currently works part-time and is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Chris Cole

Chris is the Network's Finance Manager and learning through EMA Training, Heanor. He hopes to progress onto a Higher Apprenticeship and gain professional Chartered Accountant status. 

Chris joined The Derbyshire Network in 2015, having previously worked his way up to Head of Customer Service Department for a small independent business selling TV spare parts online. As well as leading a team, taking enquiries and solving electrical problems, Chris also ran the company's ebay store.
